Our year has seemed to go so fast thus far! During this time, please help us keep our students warm by making sure they have coats, hats, etc. as they arrive to school. If you are missing sweatshirts and other clothing items, then please check our growing lost and found.

October was highlighted by our parent-teacher conferences and our attendance was wonderful. Thank you for your involvement in your child’s education. We also had Right-to-Read Week, Donuts for Dads, Harvest Parties, Book Fair, Touch-A-Truck, and Literacy Night. We also completed our 3rd grade AIR testing. Thank you to our community for your engagement this year! November and December events included: Supporting Veterans Day Program, Pepperoni Roll Fundraiser, Conducting Safety Drills, Math Literacy Night, Ohio Reads Program, Family Intervention Team meeting for administration, prayer meeting for staff, interim reports, new playground equipment installation and music programs. First grade performed on November 16. The Third grade will perform on December 14, 6:30 p.m. at Crestview Elementary. We will, of course, have our Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. Please see the district calendar for more details.

How can I help my child succeed in school?

Stay involved and feel free to contact your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns. Ask your child about their day and encourage them to talk about their day. Do not talk negatively about your child’s teacher. Read with your child every night, even if it is a short period of time. Make sure your child is getting enough sleep each night and eating healthy. Help your child with work sent home. Teach your child to be kind and respectful. Please make sure your child is at school as much as possible. Our focus the next few months is having a Positive Attitude! POSITIVE ATTITUDES WILL SUCCEED... We communicate positive behavior expectations by being good role models, and promoting positive behaviors often and everywhere! At Crestview Elementary we support these expectations through posters, classroom lessons, videos, activities, class climate, announcements, recognition and reinforcement.
